CONTEXTUALIZED WISDOM
Guidance for Specific Situations
Organizations often need contextualized wisdom on specific situations they are facing. GRACE consultations are conducted via phone or video call to assist faith-based communities with responding to specific questions.
GRACE consults on any topic related to abuse or misconduct, including:
Responding to current or past allegations of :
abuse
harassment
other misconduct
Responding to a known sex offender
Strengthening organizational health and culture
Adapting prevention to respond to emerging needs (e.g., COVID)
Basic Consultations
A basic consultation is typically a one-time, 1-to-2-hour call with a GRACE Safeguarding specialist, and it does not establish an ongoing relationship with GRACE. The consultation begins with a brief summary from your organization of the issue at hand, including a statement of any key questions or concerns. GRACE will then ask clarifying questions and give a brief analysis of our initial observations and possible approaches. Your organization will then be free to ask any further questions. Finally, GRACE will end with clarifying any recommendations.
Extended Consultations and Document Analysis
Some organizations may benefit from more in-depth periods of consultation or document analysis. Extended consultations may be appropriate when circumstances make a full independent investigation unrealistic, but a basic consultation is not extensive enough to provide a sufficient and godly response.
PLEASE NOTE:
The consultation does not enter your organization into any formal legal relationship with GRACE. GRACE provides your organization with its initial observations and possible approaches concerning the situation in question from a perspective that prioritizes the vulnerable. GRACE is not a law firm, and any statements made by GRACE are not to be construed as legal advice. This brief consultation does not give GRACE enough time and information to advise on all facets that the situation may present, and our consultation is limited by the details of the situation as it is presented to us.
Reaching out to GRACE does not replace reporting alleged or suspected child abuse to the proper authorities.
