Safeguard Your Community

GRACE’s Safeguarding Initiative is a customized 4-6 month program designed to help your church, school, or faith-based organization implement safeguarding best practices as well as further a culture of protection where abuse is prevented and survivors are supported.

Throughout our customized Safeguarding Initiative, GRACE’s Safeguarding Team will work with your leadership to ensure the necessary steps are taken to establish a culture of safety and respect for all.

The training, tools, and recommendations provided throughout the Safeguarding Initiative will empower your organization to prevent and respond to abuse appropriately. We align our training with the ministry’s values, ensuring that the steps taken are both realistic and effective in safeguarding the community.

Our GRACE team is comprised of mental health experts, former prosecutors, and pastors who possess a combined experience of over 100 years addressing abuse-related issues. We look forward to leveraging our experience and expertise to assist your efforts to create a safer community for your children and for those who have been impacted by abuse.

  • “Our church is very thankful for the excellent training, professionalism and expertise provided by GRACE.  They have helped our church leadership in keeping everyone safer and educated on this matter.  Their team guided us every step of the way to implement a policy and how to be better equipped to enforce that policy in a biblical manner.  Well worth the investment of our resources and time to learn and grow in this area.”

    Contina Savage

  • "For several hours our church sat under the wise and powerful teaching of GRACE’s Mike Sloan for child abuse prevention training—biblical, practical, troubling, hopeful. And it’s one of the most important things we’ve done as a ministry in years."

    Duke Kwon | Pastor

  • “The statistics surprised me. One in four women and one in six men... I'd have thought one in a million, but it’s one in four! I mean, also just to think that there are victims here, in this room. I guess the question I should ask myself is: what does a victim look like? And the answer is—anybody.”

    —Cheryl Francis | Music Director

  • “I suggested bringing GRACE to our congregation, because we want to create a culture change. This helps not only the leadership of a church to write a policy, but gets the lay people and parents on board as well. “This past week has been heavy and many stories have surfaced. I hope this training will help us learn how to care for each other well, to sit in the muck and the messiness, listen to the stories of survivors and believe them.”

    Amy Roebke | Children’s Pastor

  • “Typically, in American Christianity, there’s been two camps: those who care about social issues and have been historically victimized, and those who prize faithfulness to Scripture, and the two shall never meet. That’s the way it's been. But now I think we're starting to see people wake up to see it doesn't have to be an either/or. Our faith must drive us to these kinds of concerns.”

    Russ Whitfield | Pastor
